Allowing guests to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into taking care of the fastest land animal in the world, the Cheetah Insider Tour also includes an up-close experience at Cheetah Run.
History
One of three new tours announced by the park on June 19, 2018, the Cheetah Insider Tour allowed guests to help create enrichment activities, get behind-the-scenes views of the habitat at Cheetah Run, and learn details on the care of the animals from an ambassador.
The tour at its start was offered each week on Fridays through Tuesdays at 2:45 p.m. The cost for the 30-minute tour was $29, and pass member discounts applied. Ages 10 and up could participate; guests under 18 had to be accompanied by a paying adult. The tour met at Serengeti Outpost in Nairobi.
Cheetah Insider Tour was one of many animal experiences that did not return when the park reopened in June 2020 following the extended closure due to COVID-19.
The tour returned in the second half of 2022. At this time, it was advertised as a behind-the-scenes look plus an up-close experience at the habitat. Cheetah Insider Tour was listed as a 30-minute tour for guests ages eight and above, with prices ranging from $29.99 to $39.99 per person depending on the date selected. Pass member discounts were available. The tour was offered daily at 3 p.m. The tour was not wheelchair accessible, and all guests were required to wear a face covering while on the tour regardless of vaccination status.
