Elephant Ride

Children could ride on the back of one of the park’s Asian elephants.

Fast Facts:

Location: Boma (present-day Nairobi)

History

The Elephant Ride was listed on the 1974 & 1975 maps in Boma, along the path between the stroller rental (present-day Caravan Crossing) and the Nairobi train station. It was not listed on the 1976 or 1977 maps.

On the 1985 park map, the location for the Elephant Ride was north of the Nairobi train station, where the present-day tortoise habitat is located. On the 1993 park map, the location had been relisted as Elephant Presentation.

Additional information and images on Elephant Ride will be added in the future.
