The hyenas are located in the Edge of Africa, and rotate habitats with the lions.

History

On January 29, 2011, the park celebrated the third birthday of female hyena Taziki, who at the time was the youngest in the clan. Her fourth birthday was celebrated on January 29, 2012.

On April 3, 2016, a male cub, Mandazi, was born to mother Taziki and sire Makali. “Mandazi” is a traditional pastry found on the Swahili coast in Africa, and the young hyena was given the name due to his sweet personality. Mother Taziki was born at Busch Gardens in 2008, and father Makali was born in 2000 and arrived at Busch Gardens in 2008 from the University of California’s Hyena Project.

Additional details and images on hyenas will be added in the future.
